3.Reliable detection and stable operation for long time Easy to install and easy to operate
I. Equipment Specifications and Site Requirements
1. Project Overview
Project Title: Empty Can Inspection System
Project Objective: Leveraging advanced machine vision technology, this system realizes fully automated, non-contact online inspection of empty cans. It efficiently detects defects including can mouth deformation, surface contamination, internal foreign particles, and can collapse.
Rated Capacity: 1,000 cans per minute
Container Type: Two-piece cans
Container Volume: 100 mL – 600 mL
2. Operating Environment
Altitude Range: 5 – 3,000 meters above sea level
Ambient Temperature: 5°C – 40°C
Relative Humidity: 50% – 65% RH
Factory Requirements: Floor flatness, load-bearing capacity, and ambient conditions must adhere to national standards to ensure stable equipment operation.
Storage Conditions: Equipment and components shall be stored in accordance with national regulations. Proper lubrication and maintenance shall be performed during storage to avoid surface damage or deformation that could impact installation, commissioning, and long-term service.
3. Equipment Operating Conditions
Noise Level: ≤85 dB (The actual reading may fluctuate based on packaging type, machine load, and building acoustic characteristics).
Power Supply: 220V, 50Hz, single-phase (Other voltage requirements need prior confirmation, as they may alter equipment specifications, delivery time, and pricing).
Total Power Consumption: Approximately 1.0 kW
Control Voltage: 24VDC
4. System Overview
4.1 Equipment Information
Name: Empty Can Detector
Model: MT-YLG-KG-C1-01
Quantity: One set
Throughput: 1,000 cans per minute
Application: Suitable for two-piece can production lines with a maximum speed of 1,000 cans per minute.
Installation Point: Installed on the single-lane conveyor upstream of the filling machine.
Primary Function: Conducts real-time vision-based inspection to identify can mouth deformation, cracks, V-notch defects, flaps, dents, surface contamination, and internal foreign matter, with automatic rejection of defective cans.
4.2 System Principle and Workflow
A positioning sensor detects each incoming can, logs its ID, and synchronizes encoder data through the control unit.
The sensor then triggers the camera to capture images of the can. The image processor analyzes the collected data, displays inspection results on the HMI in real time, and sends rejection commands to the control unit.
Upon receiving a defect signal, the PLC activates the rejection mechanism to ensure the corresponding can is removed from the production line.
Installation Requirement: The customer must provide a 2-meter straight conveyor section, with a 2 cm gap maintained between cans (no compression or overlapping). This condition is crucial for stable inspection performance.
4.3 Empty Can Inspection Module
Inspection Scope & Accuracy:
Can Mouth Area: Detects deformation, cracks, V-shaped notches, and flaps.
Can Body: Identifies dents, scratches, and external contamination.
Interior Surface: Detects internal foreign objects or debris.
Structural Integrity: Recognizes under-pressurized or collapsed cans.
This module ensures high inspection reliability and a low false rejection rate, safeguarding product quality and supporting efficient, uninterrupted production.

Description (Please read carefully)
| This solution adopts a single-station single-lens inspection method, the main purpose of which is to control the can mouth (strict precision), large flat cans and large foreign objects. Since the subsequent processes include hot water washing and filling with nitrogen, small foreign objects can be washed away by hot water. Therefore, the detection accuracy of small foreign objects and small deformation of the can wall will be lower. | ||||
