Vision inspection machine
1.With an image inspection system developed independently,
2.the maximum speed can reach 1000 cans / min.
3.Reliable detection and stable operation for long time Easy to install and easy to operate
I. Equipment Specifications and Site Requirements
1. Project Overview
1.1 Project Name: Empty Can Detector
1.2 Project Description:
The system adopts advanced machine vision inspection technology to achieve fully automated, non-contact, online detection of empty cans. It effectively identifies defects such as can mouth deformation, surface contamination, internal foreign matter, and under-pressurized (deflated) cans.
1.3 Rated Throughput: 1000 cans/minute
1.4 Container Type: Two-piece cans
1.5 Capacity Range: 100 mL – 600 mL
2. Environmental Conditions
Altitude Range: 5 – 3000 m above sea level
Operating Temperature: 5°C – 40°C
Relative Humidity: 50 – 65% RH
Factory Conditions: The workshop floor must comply with national standards in terms of levelness and load-bearing capacity to ensure stable equipment operation.
Storage Conditions: Upon delivery, equipment and spare parts must be stored in compliance with national standards. During storage, appropriate lubrication and protective measures should be applied to avoid corrosion, surface damage, or deformation that may affect installation, commissioning, or operation.
3. Equipment Operation Parameters
Noise Level: ≤85 dB (actual levels vary depending on container type, equipment power, and acoustic conditions).
Power Supply:
Input: 220V, 50Hz, single-phase
Control Voltage: 24VDC
Total Power Consumption: ~1.0 kW
Note: Special voltages must be confirmed in advance. Corresponding delivery time, technical specifications, and pricing may differ.
4. Equipment Description
4.1 Empty Can Detector
Model: MT-YLG-KG-C1-01
Quantity: One set
Inspection Speed: 1000 cans/minute
Applicable Containers: Two-piece cans
Production Line Suitability: Packaging lines with a maximum throughput of 1000 cans/minute
Installation Position: Single-lane conveyor section before the filler
Function: The system employs high-resolution cameras to detect can mouth defects (deformation, cracks, V-shaped notches, flaps), dents, contamination on the can body, and internal foreign objects, and automatically removes defective cans from the production line.
4.2 System Principle, Workflow, and Installation Requirements
Working Principle and Process:
As each can passes the positioning sensor, its arrival is detected, and the control unit records the can ID along with encoder data.
The sensor triggers the camera to capture an image of the passing can. The image is then analyzed by the processing unit, with results simultaneously displayed on the HMI and sent to the control system to prepare rejection commands.
If a defect is detected, the PLC signals the rejection device to remove the specific can corresponding to its ID.
Installation Requirements:
The production site must provide a 2 m straight conveyor section, ensuring cans are neither compressed nor overlapping, with a minimum 2 cm spacing between cans. This condition is essential for reliable inspection accuracy.
4.3 Empty Can Detection Module
Inspection Scope and Accuracy:
Mouth Inspection: Detection of deformations, cracks, V-shaped notches, and flaps.
Body Inspection: Identification of dents, scratches, and surface contamination.
Interior Inspection: Recognition of foreign matter inside the can.
Structural Integrity: Detection of collapsed or deflated cans.

Description (Please read carefully)
| This solution adopts a single-station single-lens inspection method, the main purpose of which is to control the can mouth (strict precision), large flat cans and large foreign objects. Since the subsequent processes include hot water washing and filling with nitrogen, small foreign objects can be washed away by hot water. Therefore, the detection accuracy of small foreign objects and small deformation of the can wall will be lower. |
